And Lancome's Oud Ambroisie is a cracking good fragrance that would tick all your boxes it's a luscious gourmand oud/floral amber that rocked my world the first time I smelled it several months ago my husband stole my decant and refuses to give it back. I don't really know how to describe it other than to say you have to smell it. Also, if you really want to push out the boat, you could consider Dusita's Oudh Infini, which is very expensive however, it's real oud, in all its near-unpresentable glory.Ī couple of other things worth exploring: Ormonde Jayne Black Gold, which doesn't fit either of the above categories it's magnificent and worth all the money (hey, it's your birthday after all!). I also really like Dyptyque's Oud Palao it features a much funkier, more barnyardy oud than the other two, but if you can take that, it's a great perfume. They're two very, very different rose/ouds-the first woody, the second more focused on an excellent, tangy sort of rose. I'm a big fan of Terenzi Gold Rose Oud, and I also think 33 is amazing. Anything from the house of Guerlain that involves vanilla is going to be good, but some are better than others. Imaginary Author's Memoirs of a Trespasser also gets high marks here among the vanilla lovers.

Another option worth considering (or at least sampling) if you like vanillas is one I don't see mentioned around here so much it's Kilian's Love, which leans more toward a vanilla meringue-mouthwatering but also with just a touch of orange blossom (again, not 'girly')-just enough to make it more like a perfume and less like kitchen smells on your clothing. The Mona di Orio Vanille is also gorgeous, but somewhat more floral in character to my nose-not 'feminine' per se, but you must be comfortable with some floral aspects to enjoy it IMO. I get more toasted marshmallow, than, say, creme brulee or vanilla bean, but it also has sort of buttery facet that's very appealing. I agree that Tihota is a fantastic choice if you want a true vanilla gourmand. Hello there and happy birthday in advance!
